When I first saw this in my mother in laws garden, I thought it was a plant.
Being a sensory kind of person, my first impulse was to touch & feel the surface.
To my surprise it felt stone cold & solid.
Turns out, it wasn’t a plant but a piece of fossilized coral.
The fossilization process had perfectly preserved the intricate detail of the coral, even it’s rounded shape.
I can’t help but wonder how long it took become a piece of fossilized coral?
& where this piece of coral was when it began to fossilize?
Once again, Nature never ceases to be a source of inspiration & fascination.
